This post comes from Toby Blume, Chief Executive, Urban Forum
Urban Forum is a national charity that supports over 900 community groups to influence decision making in their areas. Although we do not work specifically with older people we are committed to supporting marginalised groups and those less well equipped to participate and our members are very diverse and have a wide range of interests.
We are not planning to apply ourselves to the Silver Dreams fund, however we are very interested in exploring the possibility of partnership working with other Age Action Alliance members who would like to work with us. Our particular interest is in ways to strengthen the links between older people’s groups and other community organisations to improve understanding and collaboration at a local level.
Prompted by an email from the Age Action Alliance, I’m keen to let other members know of our interest in collaborating.
We’re open to ideas, if any of you feel it may be worth a conversation. Please post comments below or you can contact me directly via our website.
